Nanoparticle injection developed to treat skin cancer

Researchers from Yale University (CT, USA) have developed a bioadhesive nanoparticle drug delivery system that releases a chemotherapy agent into tumors over time, and have demonstrated the technique in in vitro studies and a mouse model. The treatment may provide an alternative to surgical removal of skin cancer lesions, which is an invasive procedure with the potential for infection and other complications.
